Bisou the jet setting cat
Description
A cat was accidentally scooped up in its owner's luggage and survived a 3,400-mile journey in the hold of a plane. Bisou, a seven-year-old Persian, had hopped into Mervat Ciuti's luggage for a nap at her home in Cairo, Egypt as she packed to visit her sister Monica in Nottingham. Mervat unwittingly zipped her pet into her luggage at her house in Egypt as she rushed to get a cab waiting to take her to the airport. Bisou slipped through security at Cairo unspotted and was stacked into the hold of the plane with hundreds of other bags for the six-hour flight into London's Heathrow Airport. It was only when Mervat - who was travelling up the M1 - had a call from worried relatives back home saying that the cat was missing that she realised what had happened. The cat now has to stay at Calagran Quarantine for four months.
