Bipasha Basu was born on 7th January1979 to a Bengali family at New Delhi. Subsequently the Basu family re-located to Calcutta when she was 9 years old. Bipasha is the second of three sisters, born and brought up in a Hindu Bengali family. She is fluent in Hindi, English, and Bengali. Unbelievable as it may sound, sexy Bipasha was considered 'ugly' in her younger years due to her dark complexion. Her name means 'Dark Deep Desire'.
In Bollywood Bipasha Basu is referred to as a Bengali Bombshell and Fitness Queen, especially in the news & many of her magazine covers and articles and also was named the "Sexiest Woman in Asia" by UK magazine Eastern Eye in 2005 and 2007.
