Biometric System Okays from Appex Committe In Karachi
2 Views • Apr 17, 2015
Description
It would be pertinent to mention that Pakistan Rangers Sindh had suggested to the ECP for conducting the bye-polls through use of Biometric Machine and the ECP had in return while rejecting the suggestion said the bye-polls could not be held under the use of Biometric Machine as the ECP had gone through a cumbersome situation in past after applying the same procedure for voting and it was learned that the verification of thumb impressions on votes cast had truned to be a complex issue.
The ECP had however ensured a permanent ink would be used in the bye-polls instead, which was prepared by the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR).
The Chief Election Commissioner would during his visit to the city meet the Pakistan Rangers Sindh Director General Major General Bilal Akbar regarding shifting of the ballot papers to the polling stations.
