Description

A beautiful beginning,
Life on the threshold of a new tomorrow
A new phase yet to begin
Moments just going by
Leaving aside nothing but memories
A painter’s brush stroke
Infuses life on the canvas
Stark naked reality of our being
Each trying to be real to life
Trying to define its existence
But failure is a part of life
It remains lifeless
Thoughts get brushed aside
Colors complement the birth of a new drawing
A beautiful picture comes to the mind
An artists’ imagination- new and flawless
It looks like a painters’ delight
Or act of drudgery?
A painting signifying the truth and lies around us
The scene changes with a new entrant
The painting is stained with blood,
Life torn from the edges and gaping for survival
It‘s completely battered with broken frames
A gruesome act with marks of self destruction
There is smell of death all over
The room, the carpet, the walls and the bed
Lifelessness has pervaded into their existence
Somewhere the pungent smell of insecticide
I want to get rid of that odour around me
Did life go this way
Everything wants to be clean once again
From the incident that embraced each living and dead moment
To remind of nothing but about someone who once lived here.

This poem is dedicated to my friend on his untimely death. He was barely 20 years old and he committed suicide. Unfortunately his death did not happen at once, he tried consuming insecticide but failed. But then he did something more drastic he slashed his wrist and saw his life going dropp by drop. All the things in his room were covered in his blood, it seems that he realized the pain and was apparently struggling for life and for someone to save him. But it was too late…
