Billy Cox's Nitro Function — Nitro Function 1972 (USA, Heavy Psychedelic, Hard, Blues Rock)

After Jimi Hendrix's death, his friend and bassist Billy Cox of the Band of Gypsys formed a band with Charlotte Char Vinnedge, a guitarist from The Tremolons and Luv'd Ones (a Jimi Hendrix obsessed guitarist), and drummer Robert Tarp Tarrant. Produced by Lelan Rogers, brother of Kenny Rogers, this album is the band's tribute to their idol, Jimi Hendrix. Many still debate who was Hendrix's better bassist: Noel Redding or Billy Cox. However, Charlotte was the true inspiration in the band at that time. Few have mastered Jimi's mastery as well as Char Vinnedge did on Nitro Function. It's no coincidence that she's listed on the album's artist listings under the moniker "The Electric Lady." Surprisingly, the album appears to have been released in several countries, but not in the United States—the band's home country.
