Bill Grace - Want To Be A Pilot?

My father served in the great war
I have his form letter from F.D.R.
With ancient yellow tape inside his war journal
Enamored of airplanes at an early age
I asked him once: 'Did you ever want to be a pilot? '
'No, ' he said. 'Not once I had to go out
and start pciking up the pieces.'
I never told him about the consortium I found
Willing to explore a teen's transglobal air plans
Nor Mother, she simply could not have handled it.
Her goal was Harvard for her kid.
