Bill Grace - Spark

You were flint I was steel
Perhaps it was the other way around
Or did I just play the clown?
At distance it is hard to say.
We felt the spark and knew its danger
Wiser than we were in youth
When passion coursed within our veins
At velocities triumphant for all the world to know.
It is lightning’s power – thunder – rain
That keeps us staid upon our tracks
Fearing what pours upon our roofs
In the darkest night.
