Bill Grace - Question On A Presidency

Early in the morning I close my journal
Outside the police oficer writes his report
The glow inside his squad car
Tells me exactly what is happening.
Observing from the comoft of the house
I feel safe and grateful for his presence
And offer a cold drink which he declines.
I wonder is this the thing
Plus the inflation plus the hostages
That made Governor Reagan a President?
