Bihar: Shutdown observed over SC/ST Act

Bhumihar Brahman Ekta Manch on Thursday protested against the SC/ST Act in Bihar and violence has been reported from many parts of the state. According to reports, people in Gaya, Barh, Nalanda and Begusarai took to roads to protest against the Act. Stone pelting has also been reported from many areas. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said no one can take away the rights of those belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes nor can reservation be abolished.
