Big Computer Glitches Strike IRS on Tax Day

Computers at the Internal Revenue Service suffered a technical problem that prevented some US taxpayers from filing or paying 2017 returns on Tuesday ahead of a deadline at midnight. In a statement, the IRS said several of its systems were hit with computer glitchs, including one that handles returns filed electronically and another that accepts online tax payments using a bank account.
