Bianca Free - Planted

in the mirror I see
what worry's done to me;
tears stain my face
until its beauty's abased.
how worry's changed my life
and fed me to greater strife

sometimes i do it away with hopeful words
in genuine effort to move onwards
and be carried from day to day
but without fail, worry boomerangs back my way
it erases those traces of hope
it pushes me down a steep slope

i roll and i roll deeper into tailspin,
the rough ground tears at my skin
i reach for trees, rocks that are rooted
but my hands can't grasp any of it
so on and on i descend
praying that God will suspend

how do i stop this violent cycle?
i question all the day if i am capable.
while i turn and crumble and wither
i search for Heaven's divine answer.
and i ask where is that shining light,
that which I once caught sight.

i wish to see it again
regardless of how or when
just leave me patience as i wait
and strength to handle this weight
endurance to continue even when I can't
on sturdy ground, i want to be plant
