Bianca Free - Heart & Mind

The sensing mind and heavy heart;

how life has distanced them apart.

In shadows, I sway

with spirit bemused.

A thousand times the question goes:

of the two, which should I use?

And I think 'all right

let's give my mind a go'

but I sense my other organ

is telling me no.

So I say 'that's fine

as long as im delighted'

but my brain doesn't agree,

it's hasty to fight it.

So what's there to do

when I've hit these ends?

My heart doesn't reason

and my mind contends.

Mediate? I couldn't!

There'd be little success

with a mind that says no,

with a heart that says yes.
