Beyonce turns 33

One of music's biggest superstars, Beyonce is celebrating a birthday.

33 candles will be lined up for the superstar on September 4th, marking the end of milestone year.

The reigning queen of pop and R&B marked her 32nd year with a surprise self-titled album, a hugely popular joint concert tour with husband, rapper Jay-Z, which became one of the best-selling tours of the summer.

But the year hasn't been all rosy.

In May, celebrity gossip site TMZ.com leaked a video recorded in an elevator which showed Beyonce's sister Solange attacking Jay-Z several times before being restrained.

The incident fueled speculation in media and gossip sites that the pair's marriage is on the rocks, but Beyonce has combated the rumors by posting picture-perfect images of her family on social media.

Beyonce's "On the Run Tour" is scheduled to conclude in September in Paris, France.
