Beyonce performs in U.K., Shakira opens school

Beyonce brought her 'Mrs. Carter Show World Tour' to the U.K. on Monday (February 24). Beyonce performed to a sold out crowd at Birmingham's LG Arena. The European leg of her tour is set to run for five weeks and will include performances in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Holland, Belgium and Germany.

Shakira has inaugurated the eighth school she has sponsored for needy children through her Barefoot Foundation. The singer opened the school in the northern Colombian city of Cartagena. Shakira even brought her son, Milan, to celebrate the school's opening.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has reportedly signed on to star in To Walk the Clouds - a film about the man who tightrope-walked between the World Trade Center towers in 1974. According to Variety, Gordon-Levitt will portray stuntman Philippe Petit in the film - which is set to be shot in 3D.
