Bernard Snyder - If I Could Write

I would first glance over
my most treasured photograph
gather my thoughts
then jot down a few paragraphs (to talk about this lady)
I might go into details
about why I treasure her picture
fill out five or six lines
describing her physical features....or maybe not.
I might just dot my I's
make sure my T's are crossed
use metaphoric terms
to keep her facebook friends lost (because she likes her privacy)
then again I might just admit
writing isn't my thing
I gave it a shot but
all birds can't sing,
and even though I was awful
with this paper and pen,
I still came out a winner
because the lady in this pic'
is somewhere smiling.
