4 Views • Apr 01, 2015
Description
Styling
On styling, both of them fares almost similar. But on a comparative note Benelli is quite bigger and better in proportion than the Duke.
Engine
In the belly, Benelli houses a bigger single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine producing of almost the same power of Duke. On the other side, if observed precisely, Duke with the smaller engine does churns out similar output almost in the circle of 25bhp.
Weight
Talking about the weight, there appears Duke tips the scale at point lesser than the Benelli, which translates better power-to-weight in favour of KTM.
Fuel-Tank
Adding more to it is the fuel-tank capacity. Riding the Italian stallion will allow the riders to clock more litres on a full-tank, as it can hold maximum 17-litres of petrol, where the KTM is widely shorter in terms of the capacity with 11-litres. Though, this could be one of the tricks for engineers at KTM facility to keep the weight in check.
Suspension
On handling the undulations, both supports the cause with USD shocks on front and mono setup at rear. But the boxy swingarm downturns the appeal on Benelli as compared to the alloy swingarm of Duke.
Brakes
Both bikes uses 280mm disc on front, but for the rear TNT25 use 240mm setup, while the Duke makes use of a 230mm.
Dimensions
Comparing them on the dimensions, Duke hits specification of a racetrack model against the Benelli. It fares tall, wide, but short on length. On other side, TNT fares better on length making provision for comfortable seating of two, unlikely to the cramped pillion space on Duke. And the short height also aides it to move easily on streets, where less width means easy maneuvering.
Overview
As the pricing goes, KTM Duke falls at Rs 1.44 lakh, making it as one of its kind in the category. The launch of Benelli may conclude it somewhere between Rs 1.75 and 2 lakh positioning in the premium section if compared to the other. Hence, after all, it’s about the ride experience that would make the difference for audience to stand for each of them.
