Description

If I knew now what I knew back then
I would be the happiest among women and men.
If I knew now what I knew back then,
The world would be my song and I would be its friend.

If I knew now that God was real,
Faithfully I would walk in the light.
If I knew now that love would heal,
I would know everything would to be alright.
If I knew now that beauty is on the inside,
I would stop wearing a mask of vain.
If I knew now that it was ok to cry,
The rain would fall untamed.
If I knew now that dreams do come true
The stars would shine bright and never fall through.

But the truth of the matter is,
The sun isn’t always shining,
The grass isn’t always green,
People aren’t always nice,
Nothings ever what it seems.

Whoever wants to be wise
I wish they’d take it from me,
The knowledge I know I despise,
But I can never set it free.

If I knew then what I know now,
I would never see the sun,
I would never ask how.
Innocence is something
That can never be taken back,
If I knew then what I know now,
My life would have been black.
