If everything was meant to be
And everyone was equal
If life was fair all the time
Then perhaps I wouldn’t be here

Sometimes I pretend I'm gone
I close my eyes and dream
Forget the fears that haunt me
And wish that I could change things…

Sometimes it becomes too much
I can’t escape the pain
So I paint a picture in my mind
Twisted, painful, scarred

I can’t escape the haunting note
Of my singing memory
The happenings of long ago
Always coming back to get me…

Sometimes I wonder what it is
To be able to forget
To move on from all the bad in life
And try to start again…
