Beckie Edwards - A Wakening.

A strong gasp.
An abnormally loud snort.
Wheezing, spluttering, heavy breathing.
Unbearably loud.

Sound pounds
Through his nostrils
Hurting my mind.

Nudge.
Slap!
Nothing but a gentle stir and then back to the one man band.

I stare at him
Rising and falling.
He looks so peaceful,
Then I take him off mute.

A meaningless appology leaves him.
He is as useful half asleep
As he is intoxicated.

Rage and frustration take over.
I kick out.
Stifling sounds between the matress and the pillow.

I'd murder him if he wasn't so beautiful.

Frustration carries on rising in the form of tears.
Will it ever stop?
Please stop.
