beautiful imperfection - I am...
5 Views • Oct 28, 2014
Description
sometimes it feels as if I've been to hell and back again.
I am the girl who sometimes feels as if life is a hopeless fight,
Some of the things I hide would make you die in fright.
I am the child who constantly asks why,
the one who hates seeing pain in your eyes.
I am labeled, I am stressed,
I am judged, simply by how I dress.
I am the girl who finds it hard to forgive,
and I am the trusting toddler who is sometimes too quick to forgive.
I am the curly fry in the box of originals,
different, individual, and real,
yet I am the shadows in the dark who slowly disappear,
fading fast, hating what I see in the mirror.
I am the hope of a smiling face,
yet I can be as gloomy as a sky of rain, threatening to flood the place.
I am who you think you know, plus so much more,
A girl who's moving past the pain of this heart so sore.
I am the sinner, being given a second chance,
I am the curious child, absorbing everything in a small, accurate glance.
I am some of what you see, and some of what you don't,
but if you give me a chance, you'll see the chords, not just the notes.
Give me a chance to prove myself and show you what I can be,
Please, all I'm asking for, is to be free to be me.
