Beatrice Dahlen - The Traitor
2 Views • Jun 15, 2014
Description
A really friendly calorie
And though my hungry mouth is prest
Up to that Twinkie’s honeyed breast
Why should I suffer so
Watching my body grow and grow
I see this sneaky little rat
That shrinks my clothes and makes me fat
In every tasty morsel found
Are calories that make me round
I swear they enter through the scent
Of food. I try to circumvent
The swift results of my regress
By purchasing a larger dress
That hides protrusions on my frame
But calories, you are to blame!
Since nothing worn can really hide
Those pounds I've gained, For deep inside
Are stealthy calories that bulge
My frame each time that I indulge.
Upon my bosom crumbs have lain;
Although I try so to abstain
Poems are made by fools like me
But I can’t beat the calorie
