Das abenteuerlustige Ehepaar Dannreuther trifft in einem italienischen Hafen auf ein Ehepaar, welches zu seiner Kaffeeplantage in Afrika will. um sie scharen sich vier Gauner, angeführt von dem undurchsichtigen Petersen. Auf See explodiert das Schiff, auf dem alle nach Afrika wollen. Sie werden gerettet, geraten aber in arabische Gefangenschaft. Nachdem sie wieder befreit werden, bleiben die Dannreuthers allein zurück. Die Gauner werden verhaftet und die Plantagenbesitzer stoßen auf ein Uranvorkommen.
