The Maker's view

Is this the calm before the storm,
or the storm before the calm?
The closing chapters of a life,
must be reflected in some Psalms somewhere.

All the reflections of a life,
must now be faced, and straight head-on,
There are no options anymore,
and there should be none now.

When a person meets their maker,
there is no reason to pretend,
Although the markers may be fuzzy,
they are the markers on the course she set,
... from the beginning to the end.

I believe that we are all the maker,
and the creator of ourselves,
at least within the thoughts that we accept,
to build our inner realms.

The day is close for someone dear,
and there is little I can do,
except accept that that I cannot change,
and appreciate her view.

This was written for my mother who passed away on
January 8,2012. She decided that she had enough
of the poking and prodding by the doctors and she
decided to go out on her own terms.
... We should all be so lucky.
