Barry Van Allen - Complicated

I'm not sure that you quite understood,
how hard it hit the rest of us...
We all felt deeply so undone,
We felt unraveled, uncollected...
and just like you, completely unprepared!

Tears were held for you,
but, believe me when I say...
that they were shed all accross the state that night,
and for many weeks to come...
When you lost Brent in that accident!

I can only speak for me... as your friend,
I was glad to see you happy,
after all this time,
and your life looked headed in the right direction...
... it broke my heart - to see your heart broken in that way!

I suppose that you know how mountain women
mourn their men,
but then again... I don't even have a clue...
and I don't think that you do either.

We all do the best that we can,
to hold you up along with us,
together WE will stand !

All that can be done, is to do an early sunrise...
and hope it helps a little bit,
perhaps the silence in the morning,
will give you time to think...
about the complications...
that we all call life!

- - - And try to figure out a reason and a way,
to carry on!
