Description

(I could have made this politically correct, in a way that it wasn't written,
but, I chose to be correct instead !) (Approx 1980) .

I was just hangin' out at some forgotten bar,
just sittin' on that stool, tryin to be cool,
... with no one to be cool to,
except the man that served the beers to you know who!

My feet began to itch, and my tail began to twitch,
before I thought what I was doin',
I was gone!

There I was just crusin' down the road,
I didn't really have a place to go,
but, I just kept on goin' ...
I was takin' me somewhere,
without me really knowin' where!

I drove for miles and miles on end,
with my music all around me,
I was singin' right along,
and lookin at the scenery !

Then, it all began to click,
when I determined where I was,
with a momentary, thoughtful pause,
... I drove on!

I coaxed my brakes,
as I approached the very sight,
While, racing through my mind ,
were at least a thousand other nights,
She didn't live there any more,
She didn't love me any more!

Well, I'll be damned...
if she didn't somehow take me
for another ride!
