Barry Jablonski - A Beach Day

The palms are swaying in the breeze
And the ocean is lapping at my knees
Sun kissed bathers lying on the beach
Girls are tanning places hard to reach

The smell of Coppertone is in the air
Used by many whose skin is too fair
While surfers pick out a perfect wave
The lifeguards look for their next save

Living by the beach has got its perks
I can get away from those office jerks
Leaving my cares far away from here
I can watch the girls and drink a beer

I often use sick days just to get away
I can play all day and collect my pay
I think tomorrow I’ll be calling in too
This time I’m going to blame the flu
