Barcelona 1992 Opening Ceremony - Welcome

"Welcome" sing Montserrat Caballé and Josep Carreras to all those who are looking to Barcelona today, as 600 dancers dressed in white join hands in the thousand-year-old dance of Catalonia, the sardana. This is the welcome of an ancient land, made by men and women of peace. Five Olympic rings formed by the dancers and the heart which they draw in the stadium express this moving, thrilling welcome to all the people of the world.
