Barbara Lynn Terry - Normal

Description
by Barbara Lynn Terry
Normal is a concept,
Strictly for the inept,
As they sit, laugh and judge,
And refuse an inch to budge,
At what they intentionally misunderstand.
If you think you are so normal,
Then why are you so formal,
In your thoughts and deed,
And care not who others are,
Or what they may need?
There is no such thing as normal,
Because people are just who they are,
From all around and so very far.
But the ones that judge it seems,
Don't care why, and just deem
That others are queer it would seem,
Simply because they are different.
Being 'different' is not the same as being wrong,
An we have the right to live amongst the throng.
Those that judge others by looks alone,
Have no clue or don't seem to care how others are born,
They just judge, hate and fear, something that isn't even clear,
To the so-called 'normal' that is in plain view worn,
On Their sleeve for all the world to see,
How really righteous they are in keeping the sanctity of society
Clean of all the abnormal people, who without piety,
Cannot be allowed to have the same rights,
As anyone else lest society be swallowed up in the fight,
Which is for the common good because you are not normal.
