Bangalore schools refuse to implement safety guidelines

A week before the deadline for implementing safety guidelines issued by police, most of the schools in the city say they won't be able to have the security measures in place by August 31.

The city police had issued the guidelines after a six-year-old girl was allegedly raped in an east Bangalore school on July 2. The guidelines included installation of CCTV cameras in schools and GPS systems aboard buses and appointment of floor vigilance officers. Schools say it's impossible to implement all the guidelines in such a short notice.
