Balconies & Porches

A balcony is a platform projecting from the wall of a building, supported by columns or console brackets, and enclosed with a balustrade, usually above the ground floor.

A porch is a construction usually external to the walls of the main building. A porch may be enclosed by latticework, broad windows, screen, or other light frame walls extending from the main structure but is often opened on one side with railings.
