Description

The spirals of water flung high
An arching, soaking mass of rain
Thrown up by the coach
To cover passers-by
On this June day
So the skies opened up again
I was wet through this morning
Now I dry out slowly
On the way to London

Should June not be a joy
Should June not try and scold me
Should June not be a summer
So long and bright and happy

My hair sheds water, like a shaking dog
As I duck to leave the bus
Step out into a puddle
A gust of wind and rain
You take my hand and smile
Say 'you brought the weather with you'
And kiss my soggy lips
So long and bright and happy...
