On Sunday night you let those feelings flow
Confronted me with your wish to change
The course of our lives for ever more
That the path will fork and we must part
Then you held your breath and waited
My response was measured grief/relief
But mixed heavily with heartache
The loss of you will leave me in pieces
Although I know I can re-glue myself
I'd rather not bare the eternal cracks
However faint; they tell of your love
Finger prints of the damage that's done
Now just something I have known
Another huge portion of me that's gone
And trapped in a past, just out of reach
While I will repair myself in time
My arrangement has been altered
And thanks to your life, mine's been bettered
Though now we must stake our claim
Land aground and plant our flags
And calve out our own identities again
Know that I carry your beautiful existence
Through everything I'll ever know or see
And somewhere in me, you'll stay forever...
