Description

This morning is the prelude to a new world
The foreword to a different story
I'm so desperate to reach the ending
Thinking hard what the plot might be

It's been four years since I last read it
And now living without my favorite limb
Feels new, exciting, wrong, confusing
How will the days change shape
Where will I direct my affection
Will time finally begin to slow again

So I try to carry on, as normally I would
But stepping from my house feels awkward
The October air seems to be a stranger
An unfamiliar planet, wrapped in a chill

Hundreds of faces that I don't know
My source of inspiration now amputated
So how will these months mutate
Where will I now find my warmth
Is this the way I'll indefinitely feel

The first day without my favorite limb
Finds me fighting hard for understanding
These transient times are so unnerving
But by their very nature, they'll soon be gone
And its this fact
That I will use as my crutch...
And its in this fact
That I can draw some strength...
