Ayokunle Adeleye - The Blessing Experience
1 Views • Jun 18, 2014
Description
I thought that she was a blessing
That she was meant to do the dressing
Of my heart with caressing
I thought she would mend
And straighten the bend;
I thought to me she would tend
But she didn't even send!
But she was so decent
That whether in her scent
Or in her accent
You could notice angelic features were present
So I felt I could cope
With the flow;
There was no reason to dope:
Our love must glow
Thence I plunged into it
Without contemplating frictional heat;
I did sit
Without studying the seat!
Hence I got what I deserved
As though it had been reserved;
As if I had been observed
And my punishment, preserved!
Perhaps when I was held on tenterhooks
Was when I should have ignored her looks
And focused on my books
But I still admire the way she cooks
For a moment I was blind
And so I did not mind
Whether or not I was on a hind!
Yes, she was kind
When eventually I regained my sight
I saw the light
I couldn't say she was no longer Ms. Right;
I couldn't resist: I had lost my might!
And as I carried on the fight
I saw the imminent night;
What I thought was softer than egg-white
Held me tight- with fright!
But letting her go is tough
Just as this love thing is rough-
Especially when memories still flood
And make me feel she is my blood
Hence I'm considering waiting for her to change
And get more romantic
So we could cope with this strange
Thing that is love romantic
And if she doesn't I'll let go
So I can sigh, O!
I'll keep a profile that is low
I still need love though!
