Description
Australia’s first domestically built orbital rocket lifted off and crashed 14 seconds later during a test flight. Built by Gilmour Space Technologies, the Eris rocket launched from Bowen in North Queensland on 30 July.
A video from the site showed the rocket rising before falling back to Earth. No one was injured. The team said all four engines fired and that they gathered valuable data. "Awesome result for a first test launch," the company wrote on X.
Another launch is expected in the coming months.
