Australian man sets himself on fire during alleged robbery

Australian police releases CCTV footage on Feb. 17, 2026 showing a man on fire running away from a burning business after an alleged robbery attempt. New South Wales police said they were called to a fire in Thornton, in the Hunter Valley region, on Feb. 10 where a local convenience store had been set alight. The fire was extinguished and the building received minimal damage, however a cash register was stolen. The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking two men in relation to the incident. No arrests have been made.
