It was tied at 28-28 as Alabama lined up for a 57 yards field goal to win it as time expired. The kick fell short and the return man was able to run 100+ yards for the missed field goal return for touchdown.

The Auburn offense put up 393 yards with 296 yards rushing on the mighty Alabama defense for over 5 ½ yards per carry. The team had one turnover and forced none away from the Crimson Tide. Nick Marshall hit on 11 of 16 passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns Tre Mason had 164 rushing yards on 29 carries and a touchdown.
