The Department of Veterans Affairs has two different programs for veterans who suffer from disabilities. Veterans disability compensation is a program to compensate those with disabilities, whether physical or emotional, that are directly tied to their service. Veterans disability pension is a program for veterans who served in times of war and became disabled, but whose conditions are not directly connected to service.
