Attack on Salem pre-planned?

A day after Gangster Abu Salem, an accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case, attacked inside jail by an under trial, sources have said that the attack could have been pre-planned in order to strengthen Salem's plea to be sent back to Portugal. Sources have said that the nature of injuries and Salem's notorious past indicates the attack was pre-planned. Meanwhile, an inquiry has been ordered into the matter. On Thursday (June 27), Salem who is jailed in Taloja Central Jail in neighbouring Navi Mumbai, was shot by Devendra Jagtap, an accused in the advocate Shahid Azmi murder case. This is the second attack on Salem inside a jail after he was deported from Portugal in 2005. He had faced attack at the Arthur Road jail in Mumbai in 2010.
