Atomic has taken a new direction in ski construction in the quest to combine precise performance with smooth versatility. The new construction is called Doubledeck. Doubledeck is so called because each ski is made up of two parts, or decks, attached by screws. The Adapter deck is the lower part and running surface while the Control deck is a long energetic upper element that runs about 2/3 the length of the ski. The binding is attached to the Control deck. The purpose of the Control deck is to distribute and transfer energy between ski and skier
