ASIO warns Australians targeted at ‘unprecedented’ levels

The Prime Minister has backed Australia’s intelligence chief after he claimed senior figures had urged him to "ease up" on counter espionage operations. In an overnight speech the ASIO boss has warned a record number of Australians are being targeted by spies who have a particular interest in defence secrets.
