Ashleyyy Mooney - Strong

He tells me to stay strong,
it's easier said than done.
He's the only guy who understood me,
I thought he was the one.

My heart is torn,
It's been beat and broken.
Yet I hang onto every word,
that he's ever spoken.

He says he needs space,
and that we shouldn't talk.
I never thought it would come to this,
after that night on the dock.

I don't want to let him go,
not without a fight.
My dad calls me a fighter,
and I'm going to do what's right.

This isn't working,
I'm fighting so hard.
I just feel like drinking,
take me to a bar.

I went to him for all my problems,
if I needed advice.
But who do I turn to now,
I just need someone nice.

Why doesn't he love me?
What can I do to get him back?
Should I change my ways?
Is there something I lack?

I don't know how to handle myself,
Lord what do I do?
I just said my final goodbyes,
now I've come back to you.

I'm not the kind of girl,
that prays a lot.
But what the heck,
I'll give it a shot.

I pray for him,
that he will find better things.
I will be expecting his call one day,
when my telephone rings.

He will realize,
what a great girl he's missed.
Thinking of the fun times,
wondering how it came to this.

He is the one guy,
that has ever seen my cries.
I know he will regret this,
till the day he dies.
