Ashley Root - Forever Changed

You came into my life when it was dark and grim,
And somehow made me smile again.
You took away all my pain and fears,
Like an angel, you made them disappear.
To me, you were my shining star,
But now I don’t even know who you are.
You told me you loved me and I foolishly believed you.
Now I know that it was never true.
I put my faith in you and what did you do?
You turned around and threw it in my face,
And made me feel like a disgrace.
All I ever wanted was for you to be honest,
But I guess that was too difficult for you, wasn’t it?
I’m through taking the blame,
For all of your childish games.
I’m done with you and your ignorant ways,
I have to deal with my own life’s maze.
