Ashley Fortin - Hobbies

You change yourself every time you work,
Like wearing new jeans and a new shirt.
Your face changes from its state of playful dismay,
To one that's ridged and defaced with betray.
How much does it hurt you inside,
So much that you have to hide.
I know your hobbies inside out,
Its a vile one - I have no doubt.
But I'll stay by you,
If you'd just make time.
To talk to me with peace of mind,
When your not consumed by a different kind.
A lovely thought I'd love to talk to you when you have time,
But it seems your wrapped up in those wonderful workings.
If i could just scream at you and not feel hurt myself,
No doubt - again - I would no doubt.
Because everytime you change those clothes,
You think you've fooled them - but they know.
Everyone knows,
Its a feeling inside... your hobbies are vile - I have no doubt.
Just make some time you 'big stupid man',
I want to say 'hi' every once in a while and not have to make plans.
Not to be rushed and raced through topic and topic,
Like time and time again.
I don't want 'cats in the cradle' to be our life,
Just want to talk and feel like your here again.
You know the feeling under the layers of lies,
The barriers you've build just to disguise.
Just give me some time,
Pick up the phone when I dial.
I promise,
I'll make those minutes worth while.
