Art Basel's debut in 1970 was an art fair with 120 exhibitors from ten countries. It then had around 16000 visitors. Today, Art 40 Basel features galleries from 31 countries in Europe, America, and Asia and more than 60000 visitors are expected. International art fair Art 40 Basel 2009. An extended walkthrough.
