A fire has ripped through one of Britain's largest dog homes and killed 53 animals.The tragedy has sparked an extraordinary outpouring of generosity and grief, with pet-lovers donating £500,000 in the hours since the blaze to help care for survivors and repair the home.Distraught neighbours heard yelping from the Manchester Dogs' Home as more than 30 firefighters battled the blaze, which broke out just after 7pm on 11 September
