Arrest warrant issued for Kapar MP

An arrest warrant has been issued against Kapar member of Parliament S Manikavasagam for failing to accept a subpoena to appear at the inquest into the sudden death of local actress K Sujatha.

Coroner Mohd Faizi Che Abu issued the warrant this morning.

He said he was satisfied that the police had made attempts to locate Manikavasagam but that he had refused to accept it.

Manikavasagam was warned by the cononer's court yesterday that he would be slapped with an arrest warrant if he continued to avoid a subpoena to testify at the inquest.

As a result of Manikavasagam's absence today, the inquest was postponed to July 9 and 10.
