Around the court...

The 'Altantuya trial' has drawn worldwide attention on Malaysia, the country's politics, police force and its legal system.

Serious as the case is, there are some light moments especially when the focus is on the antics of local media who wait from early morning to snap the frontpage-worthy pix or clips for TV news.

Cameramen/women push and shove as they jostle for angles. And like true paparazzi, they hound witnesses and those involved in the case in bursts of camera flash.

It's a circus and you may shake your head in disgust or smile at the ridiculous scene, but it's all about the proverbial, utterly Malaysian, 'cari makan' syndrome.
