Arienne Smith - At This TIme

I stand at the highest point in my life
I stare down at the many figures circulating around me
I try to distinguish the many faces looking up at me on this point, this platform
All the bodies of these forms point at me in shame
They laugh at me and scream my name
I try to decipher the rest of their phrases but the voices are too far away

I dropp from my point to the voices below and hear them clearly now
'You are nothing', 'Your life is a joke' and 'No one loves you' is what the crowd screams
I run, I run from the pain thats chasing me now running down my soul
Out of breath I am tired im struggling to keep pace
Struggling to keep face
To hold on, im struggling to not distort the image

I find a safe haven in my own backyard
A land i've never seen but inpenetrable by unwanted voices or persons
I bend down spotting a note on the ground
I unfold the paper gently
'I love you and have always had you are my world you are perfect' the note reads
I smile a tear rolls down my cheek
All the havoc has brought me to this one special moment
I own it no one else

I smile knowing that the peace of mind I had is still intact
The way I chose to interact
Now knowing I broke free from the cycle
I wont be another voice
I'll just be on my point when the crowd is hush
Waiting listening for the next line
