Argentines worship their pope

Even though Pope Francis now lives in Rome, Argentines have not forgotten that he was their Father Bergoglio and are showing his home town to the world.

A tour of the Flores neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, where Francis grew up, starts at a confessional in the San Jose Basilica. Then it moves to his childhood home, the schools he attended and the churches where he preached.

Praised for his humble works, reform efforts and battle to resist becoming a pop icon, Bergoglio is followed closely from his home city, which he is not due to visit until 2016.

Pope Francis is the Vatican's 266th pope and the first South American to fill the role.
